St. Vincent Knights Honored for Service

On Dec. 8, Knights of Columbus Council 12287 was presented with a Double Star Council Award recognizing its continued service to its church and community. The presentation was made to Grand Knight John R. Powers and Father Adrian of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Dallas. Of the 100 councils in Georgia, fewer than 10 percent typically receive Double Star Council status.

Also in December, The Knights of Columbus of Council 12287 collected more than 1,000 pounds of food for needy families. The food was presented to Grace Baptist Church on Highway 278 in Hiram.

Between September and December, the Knights of Columbus collected more than 2,675 pounds of food. Partners in this food drive effort were the Kroger stores on Ridge Road and on Highway 278 in Hiram. A total of 450 hours of service were donated on behalf of Council 12287.
