As a HJMS supporter, I fully expect Coach Napier and his staff to make the necessary adjustments and have a big turnaround next week and for the remainder of the year. That's what they are known for....making big adjustments as needed!
Congrats to SPMS on a great game...all around!

Yes congrats to SPMS but on another note I would like to say that this was an away game for HJMS. Of course South had more fans, it is always like that at your own turf. I was at this game and I will say that SPHS was about a 30 minute drive for me to attend. PCHS will be a good drive for me as well when we have our home games but I will still be there. With our home games being played at PCHS, it is actually closer and easier access for some of the other schools (their fans) than it is for the students/parents of HJMS. Again, it was an away game for us.
Second of all, IMHO I don't believe that South dominated HJMS. Both of these games, 7th and 8th grade, were really good games. Both teams put their heart into these games. Look at the score, that should speak for itself. ALL of the boys played great games and I am also proud of Coach Napier, I saw him clapping for South as well. And that is JMHO.

I would like to make a comment on what you have said about the SPMS having more people in the stands...one thing nobody know about is that all the other teams have approx. 100 helmets. HJMS only has 63. So we have 30 boys on each team. We had to cut players because we didn't have enough equipment. It killed Couch Nap to do this. The other teams don't have to cut players as we do.
All so learned from my two children on the team that the new principle has cut out the pep rallies for the football games. He is more for acadamia then sports.
He also will not let us do things like fund raising for the boys.
These boys play their hearts out and they are a great bunch of boys.
Just needed to say this.

I feel for the guys whom got cut, But I know for a fact that Jones is not the only school that has had a shortage of euipment! My son plays for EPMS and up untill last week him and 5 other kids were sharing helments with other teammates, they were on the verge of cutting upwards of 15 kids because of this, but luckly they were "loaned" about 20 helments from EPHS and the youth League.

I don't know where you got the idea about making excuses. Never said anything about them losing. But I will tell you that the boys we have this year are not the same as the past two years. They are different in everyway. Our boys and the three teams we have played, played their hearts out and this is what the game is about. We don't make excuses. We make statements that are facts. I was making a comment about the fact that there was more parents at the game then we had.
I apparently quoted the wrong one sorry about that.
I have a question little hiram girl do you have a child in middle school? Do you even know what is going on other then your own little mind. The children of Paulding County can stand up proud know matter what school they go to. We as parents are proud of what our children have accomplised. Have you ever been to one of the middle school games and listened to the parents and the cheerleaders. We scream and holler to let our kids know we are in the stands. To let them know that we support them. This has nothing to do with winning or losing. It is a lesson that we teach our children that know matter if they win or lose , they are still our heros. That they still have meaning. That someone is there for them.
Some of these kids don't have anybody to do that for them and if we as parents can give that support not only to our child/children but others as well then we and them are better for it.
I want to say to all parents who give their time on the fields, dosn't matter what that field is a salute to you. We spend our time there for our kids.
Unfortunately there are small minded people who only get joy in the negative. And I for one feel very sorry for them.
To all my Tiger moms and all the other football moms. ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL!

Just curious...I have seen several of your post the past few years bashing Coach Napier and HJMS and just wondering what's your beef with him and HJMS football? Has he or someone at the school done something to give you reason to bash them? If so, then speak your mind...but I just don't understand your ill demeanor towards the school, the kids, and the coaching staff. No need for negativity on here...We should be supportive of all teams in the county win or lose. In the end, it's all about the kids anyway and I promise you that you will have a hard time finding a coach that cares as much for his players as Coach Napier does. The kids love him and that is all that matters to him. Win or lose, he sets a good example for these kids and Lord knows they need a positive role model.
The boys bust their butts and the coaches bust their butts to find the edge every week.
The Tigers haven't won a game this year...but don't count them out yet. Napier is very good with scheming up changes on the fly. We are only halfway through the season....hell, even if they lose every game this year and lose every game next year he will still be .500 since taking over as head coach in 2005. No Middle School Head Coach can say that!
Didn't your mama teach you that if you have nothing nice to say, don't say it at all?

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!! SLOW DOWN.
Coach Napier may be a good guy, the kids may love him, .............. if ya'll say so but he is a terrible coach. He won for the past two years with vastly superior talent and if he had any idea of how to coach he would have beaten the other teams 50-0 every weeek while pulling off.
They do not hit, or tackle which you can tell if you have watched the games this year. They run trick play after trick play at practice while neglecting to run his offense to perfection.
He allows his offensive players to run full speed during a scrimmage but tells his defense to not tackle his backs or do not tackle low because he doesnt want to hurt his backs. Well how do you find out who should be a back. They all look good if they can go full speed but the D can't. Thats why those backs are so soft when they get to high school.
He gets alot of his offensive plays off the internet.
He allows his best players to not run during conditioning. He allows his 8th grade "LEADERS" to talk down to the other players as if they were coaches, including being able to tell team mates to do pushups. He then tells the other players that its ok for the stars to act the way they do and that the rest of the team is lucky to have those players.
Lets look at his 4 years. His first year he won 1 game. The next two years he went undefeated and won two championships. Last years 7th grade team also went undefeated. This years 8th grade team, last years "UNDEFEATED" 7th grade team has not one a game neither has his 7th grade team. You would think that a good coach would not be at both extremes of the spectrum. The reason for the extreme ends is because the talent is what has won for him. He cant coach up. Thats the truth. A good coach may not win everygame with a less talented team but they would atleast win a few. So with Coach Napier it is win everygame or win none.
If i am not mistaken he spoke quit glowingly about the talent on this team before the season. Maybe he has been reading his own headlines too much. I would be willing to bet anything that he has 1,000,000 excuses for why they arent winning but all he has to do is look in the mirror.
My advise to him would be put down the stupid head sets, turn in your championship rings, get your money back and buy the players some real trophies for the championships they won you not the 4 inch cheapies you bought them.
Use those gift cards you and your staff recieved to get some coaching classes.
Well at least this year we wont have to sit through a Coach Napier love fest before a High School game telling us how great he is for winning two championships in a row.

Well at least this year we wont have to sit through a Coach Napier love fest before a High School game telling us how great he is for winning two championships in a row.
First of all, the first championship year his team had many shutouts and only a few touchdowns scored on them the entire season. He would also play his 2nd and 3rd string when he was comfortable with the score as not to squash the other teams with running up the score. After all, he would be a bad coach if he did that
Second of all, he runs a VERY controlled practice because he does not want his starting backs or any other starters hurt during practice. I wish more coaches would do this as my son, a starter for the HS freshman team had his ankle broken during camp and has now missed 8 weeks of football. Although he is now back in the game as of this week, he is now behind in conditioning and working with the team as a whole.
Plays off the internet?
Doesn't make his "best players" run during conditioning?
He was also a leader and it was his job to help keep the boys in line and set an example for the team. Did he ever have to "check" one of his teammates? You betcha he did
I agree that he had a lot of talent the 2 championship years, but it takes coaching and guidance to pull it together for them to win. Those boys have moved on. How do you know that all the exact same boys that were on the 7th grade team are on the 8th grade this year? How do you know they have the same heart, talent and discipline as the boys previously? Furthermore, how can you make a call on the extremes this early in the season?
Now, about the championship rings and trophies, since you obviously need to know the FACTS on those. Those boys worked their butts off washing cars on a Saturday to raise money to buy those rings for their coaches. They raised most of it and Coach Napier HIMSELF paid the difference out of his own pocket so that all the coaches could receive one. If you have a problem with the "cheap 4 inch trophies" that the boys received then you need to speak to the principle that was there at the time. HE..is the one that purchased them via the school funds for the boys. Most schools don't even hand out trophies. If you don't appreciate the principle's "cheap 4 inch" effort, I can make a suggestion on what you should do with yours
Last but not least.... Coach Napier gloating?

You could not have picked a better name to hide behind because when I read post like yours I also grow tired of it when a coward like you bashes someone like Coach Napier. It is painfully obvious that you have an axe to grind with Coach Napier but you are not man enough to face him.
What I do know about Coach Napier and the rest of the HJMS coaching staff is that they REALLY do care about the kids. Those kids love Coach Napier and will do anything for him. He not only knows how to motivate the kids he is an excellent coach and person.
Kudos to Coach Napier. Paulding County need more coaches like him.
Maybe one day my son will get to play for him.
Good luck Coach Napier the rest of the season!

With so much anger and bold statements it would seem to me that your son had to be one of the kids that the "LEADERS" always made do push ups. Your son was probably a running back that couldn't cut it and always wanted to take a cheap shot at a kid that was a starter. With all that in mind, the coach still managed to get your son a 4 inch trophy that was purchased not by him but the school. You must have been at a lot of practices to say that the coach ran trick play after trick play which means that you were probably that dad or mom that wished they had a clue as to what they were doing or were smart enough to go to college, get a degree, get a coaching job, so some low class citizen like yourself could bash a man that gives up his time so he can teach kids about football and life. From most of your posts you seem to know a lot about sports and you don't coach? With all that mouth you could be mistaken for a leaky toilet that just runs and runs and runs and runs. You say that you wont have to listen to a coach Napier love fest this year but, I must beg to differ. It has always been a Napier love fest...win or lose. People love the guy and respect him so why do you hate him so much? Maybe your wife made a comment on how cute and cuddley the guy is or how his gray hair makes her giggle and get a funny feeling all over. That has to be it so just admit you are jealous of the guy and we will all forgive you and ignore your post. Have a nice day!

It's ok...don't be mad at Napier. Take your kid off the team and work with him one on one and see what you can do with all that bottled up talent! Hopefully he can replace one of those "soft" running backs that he keeps sending to the high school.
You won't find too many supporters on your side in this battle buddy! HJMS is lucky to have him as a Coach....
Hiramgirl....
You never responded either....still hiding behind your identity also?
What's your beef with HJMS and/or Coach Napier?

Coach Napiers Jones Tigers have lost 3 games. I would recommend everyone freak out and bash him as much as possible. After all all the man has done is spend Monday-Saturday away from his wife and son so he can coach your son and supervise him everyday till 7 or
Funny how the past two seasons there were no momma's or daddy's whining about how bad a coach he is....funny what 3 middle school losses will do for a coaches image!

You all can go on loving him all you want but you obviously dont talk to everyone because there are many who feel like I do. As for my past post, i think you would know how I feel about all Middle School Coaching, its not good, sorry but its true.
Hairazor, sorry about your sons injury but that can happen anytime you step on the filed and to coach to avoid those injuries is bad coaching. You don't do anything you know would hurt a kid but you cant protect them from the violence of the game, its part of the game.
As far as the conditioning, I would be willing to bet that your son was there but if you ask him about some of the backs, he will tell you they were hardly ever there.
About the 4 inch trophies, I have seen them and became angry when i heard about what the coaches got. If you are okay with that, then be okay with that. Not everyone was.
As far as having an axe to grind, I don't have any kids on the team now or in the past but I was really put off by that display at the High School last season. I know how he coaches and its not good, sorry but its true.
I never said anything about a kid having bottled up talent , what I said was he wouldnt let anyone hit his backs so how are you supposed to know if there are any better ones, the backs are never challenged. That goes for the defense as well. How are you supposed to know if a kid can play D if he isnt allowed to play it at practice it.
I think you can tell by watching his first 3 games this season that they cant tackle but thats not there fault, they havent practiced it.
If you allthink he is the second coming then go on believing that. I know better.

Tiredofit, I think I know who you are, I believe we talked alot last season and I have seen you at the High School practices.
I had 2 boys play for Jones and we won the championship both years. They each only played their 8th grade year. One was a 5th quarter player and one was a starter.
All I am going to say is I like Coach Nape on a personal level but I did have some problems with some things but I thing every parent has some problems with coaches.
Its hard for me to say how I feel about him as a coach because he was good to my boys but I will say this, I wont deny anything you are saying but I wont confirm it either. You can take that anyway you want.
By the way, I love HJMS.

I haven't but one of my girls does cheer,,and one was in the band years ago, and is in the band at PCHS. Thats why I have seen so many games and go watch practice alot of times and talk to many parents at games and at practice. Maybe you should have talked to more parents.

We may have. I talked to alot of parents at practice but it doesnt matter. I have said what I felt and have no regrets. I wont put my name because my daughter cheers there and I don't want her looked down on because someone may get ticked off at what I have said.
Atleast I am not the coach talking about himself in the third person.

Why do you continue to deny that you have a child on the team or that your child was on the team? I'm sorry, but none of us are buying it at all. You say you came to practices but didn't have a kid on the team? I'm positive that the coaches would not allow a person at the practices that doesn't have kids on the team. If you are there without a child then shame on you and Coach Napier should have you escorted off of the premises. It is just sad that you say so much but know so little. As far as how they are doing this year...it sounds like every game has been really close. Most of what I have seen is typical youth taking over which is to be expected right now. It is a shame that someone with nothing to gain from posting such nonsense has done so after so many have said such great things about coach Napier. I guess you should take that time that you spend watching Napier's football coaching styles and taking notes and begin being a good daddy to your girls. You should first start by helping them learn that although it is a free country and we can say what we want....nobody listens to the village idiot.

LOL
I do agree that this is a bad place to post some of these things because the kids do read it also.
I respect what you are saying and your right to say it but maybe this isnt the "right" place.
I quess when you have a public forum, things can get ugly, especially when you name names.
I will say this,if this is the guy I think it is, your daughter had a crush on one of the players and you ref football and ump baseball. I coached at New Hope and we talked alot about it.

So your "willing to bet" my son was there, but you know that that backs were hardly ever there?

Let me get this straight. The boys raised most of the money to get the coaches a ring by doing a car wash because they wanted to do something nice for their coaches, the rest came out of Coach Napiers own pocket and you are mad because THE PRINCIPLE bought them 4 inch trophies? What about the championship shirts, plaques and awards they recieved? Maybe you wouldn't know about those as you did not have a child on his team nor at the banquet that the school held.
Yea....I'm OK with that.

As a person a good man as a coach well 95% of what tiredofit has said about him as a coach is true. I have seen his
players come to the high school and not be ready to play. They have to spend there freshmen year in school being tought
football all over again.
