Hi ViperMom...

Coach Ryan has a number of years experience coaching at a very competitive level in youth travel baseball (Triple A and Major levels). Prior to coaching, he played baseball for Ohio State as a starter beginning his freshman year all the way through his senior year. Post college, he played at the semi-pro level. Along with the experience in playing, Coach Ryan is dedicated to teaching players about the game of baseball- the fundamentals, the strategies and nuances of the game. He is committed to making sure the players understand what it takes to play to their fullest abilites and what it takes to make it to the next level (high school). Coach Ryan is well versed in all aspects of coaching. He teaches through demonstration and mentors the players through positive reinforcement. He has high expectations of his players and strives to get the most out of them by placing them in situations that allow them to succeed.

When he was asked to pull together this feeder team by the North Paulding Head Coach Tom Alverson, it was because of several things. One was that he has experience in playing, coaching and training players on competitive travel teams. Two, he knows the game- he teaches the fundamentals of the game along with the strategy aspect of the game, more than just showing a player how to field a ball- or hit a ball- it's about using their skill set in situations. Last, he does not have any affiliation with any of the players that will be playing on the team. He is doing this by volunteering his time and his experience for the betterment of the team and the North Paulding Baseball Program.

Coach Ryan doesn't have any affiliation with North Paulding other than he has a son that will be a Freshman this year and that he has made it a point to let the coaching staff know that he is willing and able to step up and assist them with building a program outside of the school so that the players are ready to take the next step into high school ball.

Tryouts this weekend will be a great way for anyone to see how Coach Ryan interacts with the players and how he runs his practices.

I hope this answers any questions you have- If I can be of any more assistance or if you would like to speak directly with Coach Ryan, feel free to contact him at npwolfpack2012@gmail.com or PM me.
