Yea, for the Girls it was Dobbins over East, 3-1, I think and Austin over South Paulding, didn't hear a score.

So the girls will be McClure vs Dobbins and Moses vs Austin at East.

Should be two really good games!

Go Wolves!!

thanks for the update - good luck to all the teams

rumor has it that when the new middle school is open over the next few years, the teams will be divided up into two divisions.

That would have upsides and downsides. It would make sure that the championship is between two schools that have never competed which would be cool, but if the two best teams are in one division, you could have some really big blow outs in the final.

With the single division and 1-4/2-3 playoffs, at least you can still have the two best teams in the final. Perhaps drop to a 7 game season with only one game per team pair? Then have 1-4/2-3 playoffs

But in any case, it will not concern me, as my last is in eighth grade this year, so it' on to High School. <sigh>

Dang, I'm getting old. biggrin.gif

The way it was explained to me is this:

North conference:
McClure
EP
Moses
Jones (I guess)

South Conference
SP
Dobbins
Austin
New School

Each team would have a home/away with each school in their conference for a total of 6 games.

Then play each of the other schools in the other conference one game - total of 4 games. Each school would play 10 game.

For playoffs it may be best two from each conference play then play the champion from the other conference for the entire championship. Or, everyone makes it - 1v4, 2v3 from each conference, etc. then winners from each conference plays the other for school championship. This would add another round - I like this better.

Ok - things have changed!!

Austin Boys won the coin toss and are seeded #3. To eliminate tons of bus rides, they moved 2 Vs 3 to be played at Austin and 1 Vs 4 will be at East.

So:

Girls

McClure Vs Dobbins at East
Moses Vs Austin at Austin

Boys
Moses Vs East at East
South Vs Austin at Austin

Girls play first

Championship game will be held at East on Thursday.

A comment I heard was that the construction at HJMS made parking very tight.

Also, it looks like the EPHS boosters have been helping out the middle school, their field looks better than PCHS'!!!

Hate that the girls play first at both games... We're at McClure but I'd love to watch the Moses/Austin Game. We saw part of the first one and it was a great game.

In the first Moses/Austin I didn't think Moses played very well and Austin had a strong defense. I don't recall seeing Austin playing again this season, so I don't know how good they are.
