I was against the middle school program - how so?
I have been through several pictures, this one is for Halloween. I guess you missed the topic. So, I have no idea which one of the many you are referring to...

I cannot quote you because you played off the post above yours, but it defintely didn't appear that you supported it, which was very suprising coming from you because I know you are passionate about football due to your boys. The reason the topic was posted was to start the buy-in of the community. Any negative statements would have only hurt its chances at the time. Based on your comments, do you see them as supportive of the program? Maybe it was your honest opinion, but was it supportive?
I was referring to the girl with the raider helmet. I think it was your last one.

I agree playing fields are a concern. As it stands right now..
EPHS is home to EPMS and Moses
PCHS is home to HJMS
SPHS is home to SPMS and Austin (?)
Hiram is home to Dobbins
Not really sure if Austin is home at SPHS or Hiram.
Now with North Paulding Middle opening, EPHS is the closest high school, but 2 middle schools already claim it for their home field. The fields will have to redistributed so that 3 schools are not claiming 1 school until NPHS opens with a field.
EPHS field is a stretched pretty thin already.
6th graders under a certain weight (135lb, I think) can play Rec football as well as most 7th graders. The cut off is 8th grade, there are few with August birthdays that can play Rec their 8th grade year, but not many. If I had my choice, my student would play Rec ball all the way until High school. The caliber of the coaching staff was great and he learned a lot through out his Rec years.
********************************************************************************
I still agree that playing fields are a concern. EPHS's field is pretty worn and over used. The person that handled the scheduling for Middle School should be given a HUGE pat on the back for all the scheduling issues worked out flawlessly for games.
I chose to have my son play Rec ball his 7th grade year. I should say we chose to have him play. Do I regret it? No, he had a great time, learned a lot, and we won superbowl!!! Something he will never forget - ever. It was an awesome experience. I don't regret a second of it.
There are students that can not meet the weight requirements and can not play Rec ball, since there are weigh ins before every game. There are kids that are very small and don't want to go up against someone who is 15 years old and huge. I am glad there is a choice for these kids to choose between Rec and school ball. I am very happy there are enough players to support both programs.
I like the 7th grade program that is in place now, MUCH more than the 5th quarter thingee.. If you search my posts you will see I hated the 5th quarter fiasco. The 7th grade program in place is a very good program, but I still say Rec ball is a very good program too!!
I hope that answers your question.

My great-niece was one of the 6th grade homecoming court representatives. She didn't win Princess, but she had fun anyway.

Both Jones teams were 7 & 0 this season! Great year of football! I am so proud of the boys. I love ya'll! Now, 8th needs to bring it home!
I'll tell you what though...McClure was there to play some football today and looked good for a first year team. They would have looked better had they hit instead of grabbing shirts to tackle.
Go Tigers!!! Bring one home to Mama!!!

Those girls all looked so pretty! First class all the way. It had been 20yrs since I was in PCHS stadium last. I was even more surprised at how little it had changed.
